Last month we went on a school trip to Venice, which was built on water. There

are canals, not streets, so people get to places by boat. In this city the buildings

are old and full of history. Marco Polo, who I am sure you have heard about,

came from this city and he travelled as far as Mongolia. In Venice you can visit

a lot of museums and a very exciting carnival is organised there every year.

The film festival is very well-known too. We also enjoyed visiting the shops and

the restaurants. The open air cafés are very pleasant but quite expensive.

Venice has all the ingredients of an interesting tourist destination.
